The place where you find purpose...
The place where you belong...
Jacob’s entire life he lived up to what others called him. To his family and friends, he was Jacob the liar and deceiver. Jacob did not realize that God not only created him for a purpose but for a divine destiny. When we don’t know who God has called us to be, we will live our lives being who others say we are and doing what they say we can do. Jacob’s life circumstances led him on a journey to a place where he encountered God and he called the place Bethel, which means “the place where God dwells”. It was during this encounter that Jacob realized that God had created him for greatness. Just like with Jacob, God has created you for greatness and the only way that you can really start to walk in your divine purpose is by getting to the place where God dwells, you must get back to Bethel. Jacob’s journey took him to seven physical locations. In this book God has released revelations on how those seven physical locations parallel to seven spiritual places which keep you from operating in your God given purpose. My Story
At the age of 22, I was a single mother of 2, living with my parents and looking for thrills and love in all the wrong places. After many trips to the altar and being in church and out of the church, I finally surrendered totally to God and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I Immediately changed the outer appearances of my life; the places I would go, how I would apply my make-up and of course the clothes that I would wear. I gave up fornicating, clubbing, getting high and everything else that was deemed inappropriate for a church girl. I begin attending church all the time, which included morning worship, revivals, Bible Study, Pastoral Teaching and Sunday School. I was trying my best to be a good Christian. I didn’t know this at the time but my way of being a good Christian was built on performance and emotionalism, which left me feeling obligated to perform for God’s approval and His promises. I knew God had a purpose for my life, but I was not aware of the liberty and unconditional love that was a part of that purpose. It was only after I encountered the ministry of Prophetess Sophia Ruffin and witness the freedom and authority in which she serves God that I started to realize something vital was absent from my walk with Him. I didn’t know what it was at the time, but I knew that I didn’t feel the freedom to serve God the way I was witnessing in her life. I soon discovered that the missing component in my relationship with God was intimacy and I wanted it.

Shortly after Prophetess Sophia visited our church for a conference in 2017 God took me on a 3-year journey in search of that freedom and intimacy. It was through the life of Jacob that God revealed the tactics that the enemy uses against me and many others through the Spirit of Religion to keep us from reaching our God-given destiny which includes freedom and intimacy. Getting Back to Bethel will take you on a journey that will challenge you to break away from false ideologies, emotionalism, fears, and hindrances that keep you from your divine purpose so that you can get to the place where God dwells.

God has blessed me to be a wife, a mother of four, grandmother, mentor and the director of Pattie-Cake Christian Academy, a daycare in which I co-own and operate with my husband Gregory Sherman. We reside in the city of Alachua, Florida and are members of Anderson Memorial Church of God in Christ located in High Springs, Florida under the leadership of Superintendent Lowell T. James and District Missionary Brenda James. I am a licensed Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ and called to the office of a prophet by God.

A major part of my ministry is reaching those who have not yet discovered their Godly worth, especially teenage girls and young adult women. By sharing the good, bad and ugly experiences of my life God has gifted me with the ability to usher them into a meaningful relationship with Him. My transparency allows them to understand that the promises of God over their lives are not voided because of what has transpired in their past or the situation they may be currently experiencing. God has called them to dwell in Bethel with Him and it is my desire that they do not to delay the process.
